To produce it should be:
- a plant;
- the fuel.
We talk about the fuel. For a kWh should be approx. 200 g of oil or 1 kg of firewood. The oil, if it costs $ 90 per barrel (approx. 150 kg), translated into euro is € 62 per barrel ($ 1.45 per euro). But when there was parity ($ 1 = € 1) it cost approx. 40! then increased by 50%, not 150% as seems to be working in $! Really has not grown much oil, but simply has devalued the dollar too! Meanwhile, the uranium is increased 2000% (yes, the deumila percent .. that is twenty times!).
Back to the accounts. The oil costs about then. € 0.4 / kg. And since it takes 200 grams to make 1 kWh, the cost of oil is approx. 8 cents per kWh. The fact that electricity costs! All over the world! All the rest are taxes, but they are not the same all over the world!
And how much wood? About 30 € per quintal. So with the wood 1 kWh costs 30 cents! much more! Cost as much as € 10 per quintal is not worth it, because even a wood-fired plant costs more than an oil-fired!
So should the oil? Maybe yes. If you are against the oil for environmental reasons, dependency from abroad and resource depletion. They are much more important reasons of cost! But I will not be said that economic reasons are to the detriment of oil!
